Hands up post

Its a while since I did a Hands up post. Then again it has been a while since I have done any post.

Anyway, Hands up if you remember when Dog poo lined the streets as it was the norm for people not to pick up after their dogs, before they brought in fines?

*puts hand up*

It used to be that you would just step over it and think nothing of it, but now you do notice it sitting there since it is unusual to see it. Even more unusual is the sighting of white dog crap, that has been sitting so long it turns white.

But then people used to take care where their dogs performed. The residents of our lane, which has no pavements regularly find people who can't be arsed picking it up have snuck their dogs up here to crap on our doorsteps.

This isn't a comment about white crap! As live journals resident chemist do you happen to know anything about SiO molecular lines? And in particular how the structure of SiO compares with CO? Hmmm, showing my lack of any chemistry knowledge here! If you reckon you could help, or even point me in right direction where I could find more info, let me know and I'll send you an email with more details.

I would assume that silicon monoxide and carbon monoxide would be pretty similar, although the former is a powder and the other a gas. Carbon is attached by three bonds to the oxygen and I would assume that silicon would be the same, although I think since that silicon is more stable it would form clusters.

If you send me an email about what you are looking for exactly and i will try and help. Bebo is probably the best way to do this as not sure if my email on this works since i am no longer a paid member.
